"Alternatives for
Annulment (divorce) in the Philippines?"
Most people go for the annulment
in the Philippines because they do not know about the
other (cheaper-) options.
A Philippine Annulment is the
most expensive choice AND ultimately
the judge is the one to grant the annulment OR NOT...
So be carefull when your lawyer says he 'GUARANTEES' an annulment; he
can't.
Here are two comments from our readers:
...I need
an honest lawyer. I hired a lawyer from USA to get annulment for my
filipino fiance. Its been 2 yr and I have nothing ...
...My fiance's ex filed for annulment in ...,
initially we were told 3-6 months and $2500. It's now 2 years and
$6000, my expense. He was told not to reply and has not contested. She
is failing health, heart problems, unable to continue travel to court.
I am American, business owner, my Filipino fiance' is a ... in
Florida. We just want to be married and be happy. I don't understand
this ridiculous process. Completely fed up. Is there a way to have
this case prioritized or expedited, or should I insist firing the
attorney and finding someone else to conclude? What can we do?...

I am writing
about this subject: The
Book: 'EXPAT TIPS FOR ANNULMENT IN THE PHILIPPINES' Tips,
Advice and Opinions from Americans, Canadians, Europeans etc.
Every now and then the court relaxes some rules and opens ways to
alternatives for divorce in the Philippines.
I receive regularly tips from readers and also want to hear
alternatives from you to be added to the book.
1. Annulment of Marriage / Declaration of Nullity of Marriage
2. Legal Separation
3. Declaration of Presumptive Death of the Other Spouse
4. Recognition of Foreign Divorce

FREE Tips about annulment
in the Philippines
My book is focused on non-Filipinos
who want to know more about a Philippine annulment; I need as much data as
possible so if you are a 'foreigner' who want a faster- or cheaper divorce in the
Philippines just E-mail me your detailed story. I can compare it
with my accumulated data base of ‘true to life’ experiences from Expats
with their annulment cases who have faced similar legal issues and might
give you some general tips (not legal advice). You will
be much better prepared for the first meeting with your lawyer whom you
definitely need.
I (Will Irwin)
have been happily married with my Filipina wife for over 20 years, and I
have spent 32 years building businesses in the USA and the Philippines.
Over this time, I have gained vast knowledge and experience on living and
doing business in the Philippines, and how to be the happy husband of a
happy Filipina. I have documented this by authoring the ultimate E-book on
the subject: ‘Retirement Living in the
Philippines’.
Other books of mine are 'Expat Tips for Building a House in the
Philippines' and 'Expat Tips for
Adoption in the Philippines'; more are in the making (for
example Child Custody).
Yet,
over these years I have also met many people like you who want to
annul their marriage in the Philippines or who want to
help their fiancee
divorce their current husband.
Some Comments and Tips from Readers
Do not think that there is a 'one for
all solution'; every case is different from the other and the
Philippine judge can apply a 'strict interpretation' or a 'liberal
interpretation' etc.
This also explains the big difference in cost; it heavily depends on
the complexity and how many 'hearings' are needed.
You have no other choice than to
consult a Philippine divorce attorney because on the Internet they
just do not give 'legal advice'; only general info.
(many readers obtained
'peace of mind' by simply letting a lawyer assess their case - at a
minimal fee - while they were still abroad). Rather than throwing
money blindly at the problem;
why not smartly first find out what cheaper options might be
available?
Look for a lawyer in the Philippines
who knows how to communicate by E-mail.
Do not go for the cheapest Philippine
annulment lawyer; those in the big cities cost more but have much more
experience.
Think it is
Impossible? It is Not Impossible
Annulments are being finalized daily
in the Philippines. Yes, it is a difficult maze to traverse, but
with the right professional divorce lawyer who is experienced in
the legal system and willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for clients, an
annulment is not impossible.
Time consuming? yes! expensive?
yes! impossible?
absolutely not!
Emotionally Exhausted?
Relax, Stop Thinking About It So Much and Put Your Case in the Hands of
a Professional Lawyer
Like most questions regarding how
things are done in the Philippines, I have found the search for answers
leads to an overwhelming sense of emotional exhaustion. Surfing
the internet, looking at Blogs, trying to decipher what it all means, and
where to start takes one completely out of his comfort zone –
more so when dealing with the emotion of a marriage that has not worked.
The Answer? As soon as possible, find the best professional- and
experienced annulment attorney in the Philippines to
take charge, chart the future of your case and release the excess
emotional baggage you are carrying.

This book about annulment in the
Philippines (divorce) is in the form of an 'E-Book'; sent by
E-mail. The advantage is that the information is
always fresh, updated weekly with tips from the latest
actual ‘true to life’ divorce-cases I receive from Americans, Australians
and Europeans.
Buyers can also ask for a
FREE updated version lateron and are entitled to ask me general
questions regarding a Philippine
marriage annulment, which I as an author (NOT AS A LAWYER) will personally
answer by passing on general information from my accumulated data base of
‘true to life’ experiences from Expats with their annulment cases who have
faced similar legal issues. I can tell you all about how
they solved their problems. For actual legal
advice (Philippine divorce law, divorce rate etc.) you still need to
consult experienced professional annulment attorneys in Cebu, Manila,
Davao etc.
This book assumes you have already researched
the Internet about the annulment process in the Philippines and understand
that:
YOU NEED A HIGH QUALITY
LAWYER - It is a very complex matter.
NO ‘COOKIE CUTTER
FORMULA’ - Not one case is identical to another
(there is no ‘annulment package’).
ANNULMENT COST: There is no
'standard price' and on average it can cost from around US$
3,000.00 to US$ 6,000.00 and even higher (in the big
cities). However there are
cheaper options and you do not have to pay this amount in one time.
TIME FRAME: It
will take about 1 to 2 years unless you pay more for the
'express lane' (prioritized).
NOW STOP ! do you realize that 1)
you need a lawyer 2) it will cost thousands of
Dollars and 3) it takes time?
Because if you do not
acknowledge this, we want to emphasize to you that you should probably NOT
pursue a divorce/annulment.
SO
WHAT TO DO NEXT?
My time is focused on EDUCATING and
HELPING those who are ready to move forward and who want
to take action now – so before going any further in the
annulment process; just acknowledge the elements of Cost, Need for
a Lawyer, and the Time Frame involved and eliminate
hours-and-hours of internet surfing by reading my E-book or E-mail me your
questions; I might be able to put you on the right track.
A WORD OF
THANKS goes to all Americans, Australians, Europeans and Filipinos
for sharing their actual ‘true to life’ procedure of annulment in the
Philippines with me; without you the book would not be possible.
If
you already have gone through a marriage annulment in the Philippines and
want to share tips with my readers to help them through a
smooth divorce process (or give a warning) all readers of
my book would be very thankful.
